NTI Day Monday, January 31, 2022 Several roads in the county are still snow and ice covered. With temperatures dropping this evening, we know they will still be bad in the morning. We will have another NTI day tomorrow to give the roads more time to clear and to see where our county incidence rate is after the weekend. Staff should report at 9:00 a.m.

NTI Learning Thursday and Friday, January 27 and 28. We still have a staff shortage and will not be able to have in person school the rest of this week. Students should continue the next two days of their NTI work. Staff will report at regular time tomorrow. Students who need help with work should feel free to call the school and reach out to teachers who are available to assist them. We appreciate our parents for your help and understanding as COVID has hit a high level in our community.

NTI Day Wednesday, January 26 Tomorrow, Wednesday January 26, will be an NTI day in Lee County because we don’t have enough bus drivers to run all the routes. Our transportation department has worked hard to cover routes with little disruption, but even with all substitute drivers who are able to drive, we will not be able to drive all routes. At this time we believe that we should be able to run routes Thursday. If we cannot, we will send another message tomorrow evening. Students should complete their next day packet or online work for NTI tomorrow and staff should report at regular time.

There will be school in Lee County Monday, January 24. However, we will have to use our Snow Plan for buses. This means that some roads will not be traveled and there are designated meeting points. The Snow Plan has been published to our webpage and our Facebook page. Please check this list carefully. Because it is not supposed to warm up a lot tomorrow, we will be using this snow plan for the morning and afternoon bus runs Monday.

Snow Plan
The roads are still too hazardous so there will be no school in Lee County tomorrow, Friday, January 21. This is a traditional snow day and NOT an NTI day.

After listening to the 5:00 p.m. conference call with Jackson Weather Service, we have made the decision to cancel school tomorrow, Thursday, January 20. As seen in the picture posted here, Lee County is in an area for potentially 1-3 inches of snow tonight that is predicted to begin around midnight and last until after 7:00 a.m. The temperatures will only be around 20 degrees, so all the rain we got today will likely freeze on the roads making travel difficult in the morning. This will be a traditional no school day and not an NTI day.

Snow Forecast
There will be no in person learning in Lee County tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18, but we will have an NTI day as the number of homes without power has improved. If you still have no power and are unable to do your work packets or online learning please let you teacher know when we return to school and you can make it up another day.

There will be no school in Lee County tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18. This will be a traditional snow day and not an NTI day due to several power outages still in our community as well as snow and ice covered side roads.

There is a lot of water standing on the roads and with temperatures expected to fall significantly, the concern of black ice in the early morning when buses have to head out is too risky. In order to keep students and staff safe, we are going to cancel school tomorrow, Monday, January 10. Over the weekend we have also had reports of additional COVID cases in our staff and student population. Wild Health will be here Tuesday for their weekly screening, and we would encourage parents who want their children tested and don’t already have permission slips on file to get one from the Superintendent Message section of our district webpage or stop by Central Office tomorrow to fill one out.
